The past couple of months had been so hectic for me that I hardly had time for myself and what I would like to do. But now that the holidays are here, I have more free time to do stuff that I’ve been putting off for several weeks. For one, I’m just done tidying up my room including my closet. I got rid of old clothes, shoes that I don’t want to wear anymore, and other knick knacks that had been cluttering my room.
Cleaning up my closet poses a challenge for me. The closet in my room is rather small for my ever-growing wardrobe. And this has been my problem because I tend to keep old favorites in my closet, even if they don’t fit me anymore or are no longer in fashion. I keep telling myself that I’ll get to wear them again someday. At present, my closet is still teeming with clothes even after de-cluttering it. It’s times like these that I wish a had a bigger closet. Like what Carrie Bradshaw said in the Sex and the City movie, “just give me a big closet!”
Of course, getting a bigger closet means getting a bigger room. For months now, I’ve been planning to move to another apartment. In fact, my sister and I had plans to invest in a condo unit ever since our respective apartments got flooded during the typhoon Ondoy. But due to financial restraints, we couldn’t afford to at the moment. A friend of mine suggested a housing program in Naic, Cavite called Ciudad Nuevo, which offers really cheap housing. But I guess that would be more convenient for those who live and work in Cavite, or at least near it. One of my housemates also suggested a high-rise condo called One Pacific Place in Salcedo Village, Makati. But the price range of their units is way out of my budget range. I have read articles from financial gurus who advise against buying property in these times of financial crisis. So now I’m more inclined to just move to another apartment (hopefully with a bigger closet) and save up for my future investment.
